When my lil bro was four, we discovered he’d been stealing tips from restaurant tables as we left, and one time walked out holding a piece of chicken he swiped from someone’s plate.

I’m not a racist. I am a realist. Ask any server of any race at any restaurant in any city who tips less. You will always get the same response.

I was at Ozzie’s last Friday with a buddy, and we watched a black couple leave a $2 tip after ordering fajitas and drinks. I asked the waitress if that was her only tip, and she said, “Yes, it happens all the time.”

She wanted to make a point that she is not racist, but the majority of blacks do not tip the usual 15%-20%. The previous night, she had served a group of black men whose tab was $98. They handed her $100 and said, “Keep the change.”

Though I am sadden to hear there will probably be no token black guy in the cast to surprise everyone with how well he speaks, I will refrain from passing judgement. I say this even though it is true that some of the statements made on this page could be considered racist by those who don’t know you…or even those who do. Ultimately there is only one who can judge you, and it is only until that day that you stand at the gates of heaven that you will know who was playing on the winning team.
