The word you suggest I should have used is ‘to’ which would not be grammatically correct in the sentence. A good example of this would be, “Go to hell.”

Why in the world would a supporter of Obama need to be talked down to? Supporting Barack Obama makes perfect, intelligent sense if you don’t wish to support an administration that nearly mirrors our current one. By the way, I think one of those words may have been a little “too” big, Benny. That ‘too’ needs one less ‘o’ there, pal.

Oh, and finally, you’re supposed to say something like “I’ll try not to use any big words …” at the beginning of a paragraph or statement. Not at the end. Otherwise, it doesn’t really work.
